Zero COVID cases linked to the club through contact tracing, since the beginning of the Pandemic. The Metropolitan Club is operating safely in accordance with the Kentucky Healthy at Work protocols for Restaurants, Bars & Event Venues.
At The Metropolitan Club we are currently looking for Servers to join our Team. The ideal Service Team Member will be experienced in a la carte service, banquet service and bartending but all are not required. Above average culinary and beverage knowledge is also ideal.The overall skill set for all listed positions consists of initiative, flexibility, self confidence and the desire to deliver exceptional service. Private Club experience is preferred but not required.Those who possess the aptitude for hospitality and an outgoing personality should not be concerned with their level of experience when applying.There are part time & full time positions available.
Education and/or Experience
Grade 12 education.
Two years of comparable service experience preferred.
The ability to read, write and execute basic math skills.
Job Knowledge, Core Competencies and Expectations
Greet and acknowledge members and guests.
Elevated knowledge of food, beverages & proper service techniques.
Ability to time the service of each course.
Learns Members’ names and their special preferences.
Knowledge of and ability to perform required role during emergency situations.
Job Summary (Essential Functions)
Provide food and beverage service to club members and guests.
Sets up station and performs assigned side (prep) work.
Provides immediate attention to all members and guests upon seating.
Makes sure that children are in the appropriate type of seat and are safe and secure.
Ensure that the correct account numbers and names are given for billing.
Distributes food and beverage menus; answers questions.
Presents daily features & offers suggestions on food & beverage selections.
Takes orders accurately and uses proper seat/position numbers.
Enters orders in the POS, then sends to kitchen; informs culinary staff about any special instructions.
Assembles food from each station as necessary and ensures accuracy, when Expo is not present.
Efficiently serves food and beverages in a friendly and courteous manner, placing dishes by courses in front of each person.
Checks back to ensure member and guest satisfaction; replenishes beverages as necessary.
Pre-bus tables after each course and reset them with appropriate flatware prior to next course.
Presents dessert menus, suggests and serves dessert, coffee and after-dinner drinks.
Verifies accuracy of prices, service charge, sales tax and other charges on all checks.
Presents the chit/bill.
Handles all cash and credit card charges as prescribed by standard operating procedures.
Keeps dining room, service area & all other areas of the club clean.
Clears, cleans and resets tables that have been vacated.
Advises supervisor of any service issues as soon as they occur.
Performs clean-up and closing duties as assigned by manager.
Attends pre-meal/huddle meetings.
Thanks members and guests; invites them to return.
Consistently follows local and state laws and the club’s policies and procedures for the service of alcoholic beverages to members and guests.
Adheres to the clubs' Healthy at Work protocols for safe service.
Performs other appropriate duties.
